Volunteering

The HRPAH is run completely by volunteers, with support from the HRPAO. There are many ways to contribute to your professional association that will fit with the time commitment that you are able to make, including becoming a Director on the Chapter Executive, contributing an article to the newsletter or joining one of our committees. HRPAH VolunteeringRegardless of the level of time you have available, if you are interested in getting involved, we'd be pleased to talk to you and explore what opportunities would best fit your interests.

Elections for the Chapter Executive take place at our Annual General Meeting each May. In May 2010, we will be looking to fill the following Executive positions:

  • Programs Director (two-year commitment)- Responsible for preparing and implementing our annual Professional Development program, typically a series of breakfast/dinner events from September through May.
  • Secretary (two-year commitment)- Responsible for executive meeting minutes and organization, maintenance of our chapter by-laws, decision-making process.
  • Chapter Vice-President (one-year commitment as VP, then two years as President)- Transitional position to take over for President after one year. One year transition will include special projects and assisting other chapter Directors.

If you think you would be interested in standing as a candidate for one of these positions, or regarding any other volunteer involvement, please contact our Chapter President, David Neilly, at president@hrpahalton.org for more information.
