HRPAH Executive – May 2009-May 2010 

President – David Neilly

David Neilly is President of TalentMap's consulting division. He brings almost 25 years of experience successfully helping organizations increase performance through aligned HR strategies and programs.  

Prior to his consulting career, David held executive positions at Bell Northern Research, GlaxoSmithKline and Delano Technology Corporation with Generalist and Compensation mandates. He also worked with Towers Perrin as a consultant for two years, then ran a successful consulting business before joining TalentMap in 2009.

David received his Master of Business Administration from the Ivey Business School and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Western Ontario. He has completed professional development programs with the NTL Institute, Center for Creative Leadership and American Compensation Association.

 

Past-President – Michael Bennett CHRP

Michael is an HR Professional with over 20 years experience as a specialist, generalist, leader and consultant in Canada and the US. He is a founder and Managing Director of H3R Human Resources Service, an HR consulting and outsourcing company specializing in innovative HR, people-management and performance products and services for small and medium sized business.

Prior to forming H3R, his HR career experience included HR consulting and corporate HR roles across a number industries including financial services/securities, manufacturing, industrial products and executive search.

A Sheridan HR grad, Michael is also a member of the Program Advisory Committee for Sheridan's HR Program, teaches in the program and is a former Director and President of the Sheridan Alumni Association. He also serves as a Citizen Representative on the Halton Diversity Advisory Committee with Halton Regional Government. 

 

Programs Director – Irene Wilson CHRP

Irene is a Manager in Advisory Services, Operations Improvement with KPMG LLP in Toronto. She has a wide range of experience in private sector entities. Irene's experience ranges from senior Human Resources management positions to providing advisory services within Financial Institutions.

Irene's focus in HR has been on building the HR function and its integration into, and delivery of, the business strategy, while her focus in Business Process Improvement has been on transformational initiatives through a Lean Six Sigma perspective. In addition to her CHRP designation Irene holds an MBA from Laurier, is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a Certified Management Accountant.

 

Membership Director – Maia Jones

Maia currently works as an Office Manager for Sigma Designs Technology Canada, a developer of highly-integrated System-on-a-Chip semiconductors. Prior to getting into the private sector, Maia spent 10 years working for the Ontario government, and has a long history of involvement in politics at the provincial and federal levels. Maia also has membership experience from serving on various riding and political associations.

Maia is currently working part-time towards her CHRP designation at Humber College.

 

Communications Director – Carmen Braund CHRP

Carmen is a successful entrepreneur who has owned, operated and managed businesses for over 20 years, with a personal focus on human resources, accounting and business development. 

She acquired her Certificate in Human Resources Management from Sheridan College in 2007, then the CHRP in 2008. She also has prior experience in journalism, training and development, and event organizing, as well as an earth science degree from Dalhousie University.

 

Treasurer – Jay Brown CHRP

James "Jay" Brown has been an HRPAH member since 2005. Jay holds a BA in Economics from Queens University, as well as his Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Sheridan College.

Currently a consultant for ENGAGE Human Resources Solutions Inc, he is part of the Recruiting Process Outsourcing group presently managing recruitment & selection for a client in Burlington. A former engineering staffing consultant, Jay holds the Certified Placement Consultant designation through ACSESS as well as the CHRP. Prior to enrolling in the Sheridan program, Jay served as a Legislative Assistant at Queen's Park for five years.

Jay starts his second term on the Executive having just completed a term as Government Affairs Liaison.

 

Secretary – Renee McIntosh CHRP

Renee McIntosh graduated from Brock University with a BBA. A resident of Burlington, Renee returned to school to complete the Human Resources Management post graduate program at Sheridan College in 2004. She went on to receive her CHRP designation the following year.

Renee is an HR Specialist with The DATA Group of companies, where she has been for five years following completion of her Sheridan Co-op term with them. Within this role she is the HR contact for multiple locations within the company and providing a full spectrum of Generalist advice, counsel and support to her client groups.  

 

Director, Student Liaison – Samina Sial

Samina holds a Human Resources Coordinator position at Technicolor Canada and has been an HRPAH member since 2005. Samina obtained her Human Resources Management Certificate from Sheridan College in 2006 and recently wrote the NPPA exam.

Samina relocated from the UK in 1989 and has held various administrative positions in the pharmaceutical industry working for Johnson & Johnson, Searle Canada and progressed to an Executive Assistant to the President at Pharmacia Canada.

Since transitioning into the Human Resources field, Samina has held positions in Human Resources at Baxter and Matrix but began her career working for Robert Half International as a Recruiter providing search services for professional positions.
